How to Change a Tire

Perhaps, one thing that you will almost always experience in your driving career is a flat tire. It is one thing that you always wish wouldn't happen but happens just when you are in a hurry. At such times, though it might seem tiring and hard to keep your cool and follow the steps below to get your tire changed quickly and properly. Remember, you have to do this and hence doing it the right way would save you on energy and time!

Get That Flat Off

1. First try and take your car to a less congested and less traffic area. You don't want someone to hit your car or worst hit you instead!

2. Turn off the engine and don't forget to pull your handbrakes before you get down. This is really important as you won't have any control over your car once you get down and even a small slop might be injurious to you and your car while replacing the tire.

3. Get your tools from the back or where you keep it and check for the right tool for unwinding your bolts. Usually, you will only need a jack, a wheel wrench and of course the spare tire!

4. If you have any plastic protective cover on the tire, carefully remove it first.

5. Use the jack to lift your car up and make sure you have it in the right place.

6. Remove the screws by rotating them in anti-clock direction but it is a good idea to loosen them while the car is on the ground.

7. Now you can easily remove your flat tire. Also, place the new tire in place of the old one. Apply a little force if needed.

Put The New Tire On

8. Put all the screws together first and then go on rotating each one of them in clockwise direction. Make sure they are tight enough. And then once the car is on the ground tighten them up very tight

9. Put all your tools back along with the flat tire. Also, remember to repair that flat tire as soon as possible for a possible future flat tire.

10. You are ready to go now with your new tire. But drive carefull if you are on a spacesaver tire which are very skinny.
